Jens Bjørneboe

Jens Bjørneboe (1920-1976), Norwegian novelist, playwright, poet and essayist “whose work was generally inspired by a sense of outrage at the abuse of power in the modern world. At the beginning of the 21st century, he was considered to be one of Norway’s most significant post-war writers”.

Barba’s close friendship and dialogue with Jens Bjørneboe and Jerzy Grotowski stimulated him to question the very nature of theatre, its social function and its individual sense for the actor and the spectator. Barba launched his inexperienced young group into ambitious cultural projects, the first of which was TTT, Teatrets Teori og Teknikk.
